If you’re looking for a wedding venue that blends historic charm with unexpected fun, Avoncroft Museum is a true gem. When Edd and Amelia told me they were Doctor Who superfans tying the knot surrounded by windmills, vintage trains, and a real, talking TARDIS, I knew this was going to be one incredible day. And it absolutely was.

From the start, guests were treated to an experience like no other. The vintage theme was beautifully woven into every detail — from Amelia’s timeless dress and red-lip glam to the retro touches on the tables and decor. But the fun didn’t stop at the styling. Guests got to ride actual trains around the venue — a nod to Edd’s love for heritage and history — making the day feel like a charming, interactive museum adventure.

But the real showstopper? Edd and Amelia’s life-sized TARDIS, which not only looked the part but also moved and talked. It was a total hit — kids were mesmerized, Whovian friends were in heaven, and it made for some of the most fun and unique wedding portraits I’ve ever captured.

We snuck away for some quieter moments to shoot portraits of Edd and Amelia near one of Avoncroft’s iconic windmills. With the breeze gently blowing and the golden light settling in, it was the perfect scene for some truly romantic family and couple shots.

As night fell, the celebration lit up — literally — with a sparkler exit that was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by cheering loved ones, Edd and Amelia ran through a tunnel of shimmering sparks, hand in hand, all smiles.

The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches that brought both laughter and tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room during Amelia’s dad’s emotional toast, or during Edd’s tribute to their journey together. You could feel how deeply loved and supported they were by every person there.

Then, it was party time. And let me tell you — this crowd could sing and dance! With vintage hits, live performances, and group singalongs, the reception quickly turned into a joyful, musical celebration. The energy on the dance floor was electric.

Between bursts of dancing, guests flocked to the photo booth, captured Polaroid memories, and satisfied their sweet tooth at the waffle stand (which was a huge hit — Nutella and strawberries for the win!).
